I know the last couple of weeks have been a bit crazy on the Facebook group with lots of ideas being thrown out to our Facebook readers. Some of it was negative , a lot of it was positive, some of us lost the way and left the group .. only to come back again. Thanks to Richey Featherstone for picking things up when I nearly lost the way. cheers Richey. Personally, I have made a lot of new contacts and my FB “friends” list has now multiplied dramatically !!! Thank you all who offered friendship, I just hope I can recognise you in “real life”. I would also like to thank Les Routledge for his support from Newcastle Blues Club and also Nick Hamilton for providing links from their site to us. Also thanks go to Sandy McGhie at 7Ahead.com for adding a link to us from his “listings” site (another Doonhamer in Edinburgh. Cheers Sandy).
What I do feel forming is a strong “steering group” to help take this forward and plan for the meeting on the 13th. This “steering group” will be having a face to face meeting prior to the 13th to put together and agree on the fundamentals of the Club. We also need to address club constitution and legal requirements and “steering Group” structure for EBC. Please be assured that nothing is cast in stone until all members have had the chance to review all of that and if you are unable to make the 13th meeting , the details will be posted under the EBC Meeting page.
Overall though, I am really amazed at the numbers of people who have registered either here or in the facebook page. This site will be the main vehicle for managing members and users. The registered users on this site will be used in the future to allow us to send out newsletters and email notifications to you. Can I ask you to update your profiles with your details to help put faces to names? That can be done via the “Edit My Profile” link.
Keep on passing the word about EBC. and I hope to see many of you at the Open Meeting on the 13th of January 2014. If I don’t see you before the 25th, have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
