We have now announced the 5 emerging blues artists who will play on the night and they are as follows;
Laurence Murray Project
Hailing from Edinburgh, The Laurence Murray Project is a four-piece band consisting of Laurence Murray (guitar & vocals & co-songwriter), Kirsty Marquis (vocals & co-songwriter), Fraser de Banzie (drums) and Dunkan Robertson (bass), whose style is described as a heady mix of blues, R’n’B, rock and soul. They have appeared more than once on STV Edinburgh’s The Fountainbridge Show, appeared at played at the Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival in Colne and Falkirk Blues Club. They are set to release a 12-track album within the next few months.
Becky Pilcher’s Blues Band
Becky has recently completed her degree in Music Performance with guitar as her primary instrument and this show will see her reunite with the musicians from her degree show, including Christy Simpson on vocals, to perform a range of blues covers. Rebecca currently fronts Edinburgh Rock band “No Quarter” who have supported respected artists such as Jace Everett and Eilidh McKellar in the last twelve months. Having played guitar for ten years, one of her main ambitions is to try and inspire more females to pick up a guitar.
Logan’s Close is a 4-piece rock n roll, rhythm & blues band heavily influenced by 60s rock and electric blues who thrive on getting the audience dancing and providing upbeat, energetic tunes. Nothing more needs to be said for this band. If you need a comparison, think The Beatles before they disembarked in Hamburg. Logan’s Close are a band not to be missed. They could get a mortuary shaking. Having just released their first EP, they aren’t sitting on it for too long. Already back in the studio recording new material, these boys show no sign of slowing any time soon.
Dead Broke and Dirty
Dead Broke & Dirty are a rock and blues band from Edinburgh with an exceptional sound and a repertoire that takes in the likes of Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry and the Rolling Stones. They have a 4 piece line up consisting of Electric Lead Guitar, Female Lead Vocals/Harmonica/Acoustic, Bass Guitar and Drums. “Dead Broke and Dirty play the devil’s music for all you rock n’ roll junkies out there. We gonna wang dang doodle all night long.”
Nobody’s Business are a four-piece Edinburgh based rock and blues covers band. If you are looking for a lively, rocking band playing classic numbers that will get the crowd dancing then look no further.
